چکیده
background: cryptosporidium parvum is a zoonotic pathogen transmissible from a variety of animals to humans and is a considerable public health concern. dairy cattle have been identified in numerous reports as a major source of environmen-tal contamination with this pathogen. the aim of study was to detect and isolate the cryptosporidium spp . from fecal samples of naturally infected pre-wean calves in the mashhad area methods: overall, 300 fecal specimens from 1 to 30 days pre-weaned calves were collected from 10 farms in the mashhad area the capital center of the khorasan razavi province, iran and microscopically examined for cryptosporidium spp. all infected samples were also analyzed using nested –pcr. a polymerase chain reac-tion (pcr)-restriction fragment length polymorphism (rflp) analysis of the small-subunit (ssu) rrna gene was also used to detect and identify cryptosporid-ium spp. in pcr- positive samples. results: eighty five (28.3%) of the specimens were positive for cryptosporidium spp. the prevalence of cryptosporidium spp. in 8-14 days old and diarrheic calves were significantly higher than other groups. restriction digestion of the pcr products by sspi , vspi restriction enzymes and sequence analysis revealed the presence of c. parvum bovine genotype in all isolates. conclusions: our results suggest that pre-weaned calves are likely to be an important reservoir of zoonotic c. parvum .

Cryptosporidium, a worldwide protozoan parasite, is one of the most common causes of diarrhoea in humans and animals. The aim of the present study was to determine Cryptosporidium species/genotypes in pre-weaned calves in Shaanxi Province using PCR and sequencing based on the small subunit rRNA gene. A total of 258 faecal samples were collected from pre-weaned calves in 19 different farms from ...

Cryptosporidium spp. oocysts were identified by using themodified Ziehl-Neelsen staining technique in 63 (21.65%) calves. Calves were grouped according to theirage as follows:
متن کاملDistribution and Genetic Characterizations of Cryptosporidium spp. in Pre-Weaned Dairy Calves in Northeastern China’s Heilongjiang Province
BACKGROUND Cryptosporidium spp. are common parasites of humans and animals. Farm animals, especially pre-weaned calves, are considered to be one of main animal reservoir hosts of Cryptosporidium in the transmission of human cryptosporidiosis. The aim of this study was to determine the distribution and genotypes of Cryptosporidium spp. in pre-weaned calves using molecular tools and to assess zoo...

To estimate the prevalence of subacute ruminal acidosis (SARA) in dairy cows, a total of 196 ruminalfluid samples were drawn by rumenocentesis from 10 dairy herds of Khorasan Razavi province, northeast ofIran. Two groups of 12 cows, early lactation and mid-lactation cows were sampled in each dairy herd andruminal pH was determined immediately using a portable pH-meter. A total of 54 cows (27.6%...
